A spectacular race on between italian land (Livigno) but especially swiss (Engadina), that saw the victory of the European Champion Christoph Sauser in 5h36’29”. Region Trentino, represented by Team Wilier Sat System, this year gained the 11th final place, but with the umpteenth unlucky episode. Until two third of race Massimo was author of a very positive performance, the first two half times in Fuldera and Livigno passed 3rd, and 6th in Chanf. 10 kilometers from the arrival one link of the chain broke up, making him lose precious time and many positions. Fixed the problem, thanks also to a amateur rider, Massimo tried to recover as he could, making the 8th best time of the ultimate portion, to 28 minutes from the winner. Achieving five wins and one 3rd place, past weekend can clearly be called a successful one for our triathletes. Castelli’s brand ambassadors were always in the middle of things and gained their well deserved prizes. Spaniard Marcel Zamora broke the first ground on Friday by winning extreme triathlon Embrunman where athletes faced around 4000m of elevation on the bike (including Col d’Izoard) followed by a hilly marathon. Even more impressive is the fact, that Zamora won Embrunman for the 5th time. Barely breathed deeply, Leanda Cave secured her Kona participation in an impressive way by winning Ironman Sweden in Kalmar only six days after her 2nd place at the Ironman 70.3 European Championship in Wiesbaden. On the same day, cross triathlon specialist Ruben Ruzafa once again showed his class and won ITU Cross World Championship in Zittau (Germany). His winning streak must slowly become frightening for his rivals. On Sunday our German athletes didn’t want to rank behind. Matthias Knossalla had a tough season so far struggling with injuries and illness, but celebrated a perfect comeback by winning mid distance triathlon Weilburgman in Germany. Andreas Raelert finished 3rd at the Ironman North American Championship in Mt. Tremblant. He collected valuable points for ...
