Giro d’Italia, Stage 21 in Pictures

Chris Froome coasted home to the finish line in central Rome on Sunday lined across the road with his teammates as they celebrated his and Team Sky’s first ever Giro d’Italia victory. The Briton became only the third man to hold all three Grand Tour titles at the same time and the seventh man in history to complete a full house of Grand Tour victories, a Giro win to sit alongside his 2017 Vuelta a España and Tour de France successes. Chris Froome and Team Sky completes historical Tour – Vuelta double

In winning, Team Sky captain Chris Froome becomes the first rider who won  the Vuelta-Tour double since 1978, and only the third ever after Jacques Anquetil (1963) and Bernard Hinault (1978) to win the French and Spanish Grand Tours in the same year. The Team Sky leader has now won five Grand Tours within the last five years.
