The IM 70.3 World Championship in Nice lived up to expectations. Warm, summery weather at the French Riviera were a perfect setting for exciting and top-class race action on both days. Enjoy some impressions captured by Edoardo Civiero, Carla Nagel and gettysport.

Just one week after his 4th place at IM 70.3 Santa Rosa the Boulder-based athlete was again at the start in Poland. Tim managed a very good start and celebrated a start-to-finish victory this past Sunday ahead of the two Germans Nils Frommhold and Markus Liebelt. “I was excited to race. I took the lead in the swim, maintained my position on the bike and capped it off with the day’s fastest run.” Tim and Markus relied on the no-compromise race suit All Out Speed Suit. TOP 3 men: 1. Timothy O’Donnell (USA) 3:47:40 (new course record) 2. Nils Frommhold (GER) 3:52:57 3. Markus Liebelt (GER) 3:53:27 Enjoy a race gallery from Poland. Many triathletes – Age Grouper or Pros – trust in a coach when it comes to their training or helping them to get a better athlete. They need advice in terms of training, nutrition, bike fitting, mental fitness, how to stay injury free or how to improve their swim technique just to name a few things that athletes worry about. Can one person be a specialist in all these areas? Of course a good coach should be an expert when it comes to daily training, race tactics or how to stay injury free. But does he need to be a mental coach or an aerodynamic expert? I would say no. But how can an athlete receive a professional environment where he only needs to concentrate on his training and is supported in all other aspects of triathlon? To cure this problem Susanne and I founded Trivolution-Training.de, a coaching network based in Wiesbaden, Germany. An association of experts with different strengths with one primary goal: help to become a better, healthier and happier triathlete. Even if I’m racing at pro level on the long distance, I’m also a coach since 2011 after graduated in sport science. Over the years I had ...

Wow, some crazy weeks are left behind me. There have been major Up’s and Down’s this season but let me start at the beginning of my summer season with Ironman 70.3 Mallorca. This should have been my first big race of the season. I was in peak shape on the bike and the run, smashing my 10k personal best two weeks before. I was more than happy to get my customized Castelli Free Tri Suit just in time for the race. Come one, this one looks so great with my Felt IA ;-) For my relations I had a good swim with a new PB for the 1,9k in the water. After exiting the water I jumped on my bike and made a strong push. At the monastery of Lluc I already passed 11 other professional athletes. While descending suddenly a goat jumped on the street. I managed to get around it but crashed…..that was it. Although I wasn’t injured seriously, I had to skip running for almost eight weeks and couldn’t ride my bike for five weeks. Even swimming wasn’t possible for two weeks due to all the scratches. I had to cancel my next two races, which should ...
