The past few days of the Vuelta a Espana have been marred by drama with Alberto Contador (Tinkoff-Saxo) looking strong in the lead as the second week of the race unfolds. Hesjedal had been in the company of Olivier Zaugg (Tinkoff-Saxo) in the closing kilometres but dropped the Swiss rider and going on to win stage 14 by 10 seconds. MTN-QHUBEKA ready for Grand Tour debut

On Saturday Africa’s team start their first ever grand tour, La Vuelta a Espana. Boundaries are being broken with an unprecedented six grand tour debutantes starting the La Vuelta. And in Merhawi Kudus, Team MTN-Qhubeka p/b Samsung will field the youngest rider in the race. For each and every Team MTN-Qhubeka rider starting La Vuelta a Espana, it is a case of a dream being realised. The motivation and morale among the entire team is sky high as they prepare to get the ball rolling with Saturday’s Team Time Trial.
