The season of cold, rain and shortened days has come. This might make some people want to curl up in front of the fireplace with a cup of hot chocolate, but if you’re reading this blog there’s a good chance you’re not that kind of person. There are still nearly 10 hours of light per day to enjoy, and autumn is the best season to appreciate beautiful colors and landscapes, so it seems like a good opportunity to switch out the road bike for the mountain bike and hit the trails. Castelli is celebrating the transition from the road season to the MTB/cyclocross season with a series of videos made with Massimo Debertolis, a mountain biker from the Primiero valley, just 30 kilometers from the Castelli headquarters. Massimo was Italian MTB champion in 2004 and 2007 and world marathon champion in 2004. He is now building a team, which will wear Castelli for the 2015 season. A broken chain takes him out from the top five After the august stop the biker from Primiero Massimo Debertolis get back on his sport season participating to the Nationalpark Bike Marathon on long distance of 137 km with a 4120 mt altitude gap. A spectacular race on between italian land (Livigno) but especially swiss (Engadina), that saw the victory of the European Champion Christoph Sauser in 5h36’29”. Region Trentino, represented by Team Wilier Sat System, this year gained the 11th final place, but with the umpteenth unlucky episode. Until two third of race Massimo was author of a very positive performance, the first two half times in Fuldera and Livigno passed 3rd, and 6th in Chanf. 10 kilometers from the arrival one link of the chain broke up, making him lose precious time and many positions. Fixed the problem, thanks also to a amateur rider, Massimo tried to recover as he could, making the 8th best time of the ultimate portion, to 28 minutes from the winner.
