We are looking back on another Kona Ironman, a memorable race in many aspects. Congrats to all athletes on racing this year and performing with the very best in this sports. Some had the race of their life, others were not able to realise their dreams. We would especially like to emphasize Cameron Wurf’s bike performance. Wearing the all new PR Speed Suit (more here) he set the new record to 4:09:06. The Pease brothers (Kyle and Brent) fulfilled a dream of a lifetime and finished after 14:28:59. Enjoy some impressions of this year’s world championship below. Top 10 men: 1. Patrick Lange (DEU): 7:52:30 (52:42 / 4:16:05 / 2:41:32) 2. Bart Aernouts (BEL): 7:56:41 (54:07 / 4:12:26 / 2:45:42) 3. The 20th edition of Ironman Austria (Klagenfurt) was held in perfect long distance weather, not too hot and a light breeze. Starting the race it was clear that Pewag Racing Team athletes were willing to take an offensive approach. Two of them – Beatrice Weiß and Lukasz Wojt – lead the race for some time. The latter almost until the end of the bike leg and finally finished 6th overall. Russian Ivan Tutukin was catching up (fastest marathon of the day, 2:40h) and almost caught winner Michael Weiss. Enjoy our race day gallery by Edoardo Civiero.
