The race in Innsbruck is on such a difficult circuit that the tactics is more difficult than ever to be put in place. Nevertheless, each National team’s sport director has got one plan in the pocket to try and conquer the rainbow. Here’s Davide Cassani’s one. The Italian Team might not approach the race with the best preparation possible due to Nibali and Moscon troubles, but Cassani will try to play the best possible with the cards he has in his hands. The one-day race so many pro riders have been preparing for is finally upon us: the 2017 UCI Road World Championships elite men’s road race. The wild coastal landscape of western Norway will mark the start of the men’s race. The wobbly 267.5 km course should make for an unpredictable contest, compounded by the potential for tricky weather, or what some riders would call “Perfetto, Gabba” conditions. The field will have plenty of big names hoping to take the rainbow jersey on Sunday. The Castelli-equipped Italian national road team, with the Italian ‘commissario tecnico’, Davide Cassani, arrived in Bergen on Thursday to check out the course and stretch their legs before the fireworks begin on Sunday. Italy has a strong lineup for Sunday (see full list below). Elia Viviani and Matteo Trentin are two strong contenders for an Italian world championships success. Italian brand becomes official partner and sponsor of Italian National Cycling Federation for 2014 UCI Road World Championships in Spain. Castelli has signed an exclusive partnership agreement with the Italian National Cycling Federation for the 2014 UCI Road World Championships, which will be held in the historic city of Ponferrada in northwest Spain from September 21 to 28. The biggest names of the present Italian cycling, in the likes of Vincenzo Nibali, Filippo Pozzato or Ivan Basso were called, as Cassani announced the full list of riders expected to take part in the training camp, during the press conference held in Rome. Davide Cassani has quickly found himself in the new role of the Italian national team coach, after Paolo Bettini left the position to become a part of the new Fernando Alonso Cycling Team, and appointed 29 riders to participate in the first training camp to be held in Camaiore between 26 February and 1 March.
