Evi Neuscheler completed her season at Barcelona

While almost everyone’s attention were fixed on Hawaii at the beginning of October, German Castelli athlete Evi Neuscheler travelled to Catalonia for her final triathlon of the year, namely Ironman Barcelona. Evi has already left her mark during her first year as a professional, with a 2nd place at Ironman 70.3 Aarhus and a victory at Berlinman (half distance) as most remarkable results. We are glad to share her race impressions. Learn more, how her race unfolded … “When you hear the word “Barcelona”, what is your first impulse? Sagrada Familia? Las Ramblas? An attractive and bustling metropolis? Among other things, it might be the sun, the beach and warm temperatures. A perfect place for the joys of life, including… A long-distance triathlon?!? Calella, just outside of Barcelona, is the venue of “Ironman Barcelona”. Early October is usually perfect for a visit of Catalonia, except for that last Sunday morning, on race day.  There was heavy rain and the streets were flooded when I stepped outside in the dark early morning.
