Aix en Provence, Evi Neuscheler, france, fraser cartmell, ironman, Ironman 70.3, Pays d'Aix, Pewag, pewagracingteam, Thomas Steger, Triathlon -

The European season was really kicked off past weekend with the first Ironman 70.3 race of the year in France. Among other things, the region around Aix en Provence is famous for its excellent training conditions. Competition was tough, because pros and amateurs were already hunting for points and slots for the 70.3 World Championship in Zell am See in August. Experienced Scotsman Fraser Cartmell – who was already training in nearby Girona for a few weeks and returns to the famous training destination right after the race – has already competed in Challenge Dubai and Ironman South Africa earlier this year. Knowing, that the field was top-class, Fraser exited the water in 5th place and rode within the main group on the bike leg for much of the distance but lost contact over the final Col towards the end of the 90k loop. After holding a fairly steady run pace, he finished in 13th position, which he’s not 100 % happy with. Fraser Cartmell raced in his customized Free Sanremo Suit SS, a one piece race suit tailor-made for half and full distance Ironman races. It pairs exceptional wearing comfort with perfect aerodynamics. Pewag racingteam sent young Austrian Thomas ...

Andreas Raelert started into the 2015 season with a third-place-finish at the Ironman 70.3 St. George in Utah, USA. The Rostockian followed in 3:53:39 in third place in a very close finish, he was only 17 seconds behind the strong Canadian Brent McMahon. “Overall, I am satisfied with my first race of the season. It was exactly the tough season opener it had expected. Tim Don and Brent McMahon have shown strong performances throughout the whole race.” said Andreas Raelert after his podium-finish. From the beginning of the swim distance of 1.9 kilometers, a lead group of about a dozen athletes formed in the Sand Hollow Reservoir. Can Canary, Challenge Dubai, ironman, Ironman 70.3, Knossalla, mallorca, matthias knossalla, philippines, Triathlon -

It has almost been six months since my last race. During that period, many things changed for me. I switched my race bike and riding the new Felt IA for this season. It took some time to get used to it but right now, I’m more than happy with my new weapon. 2015 started with a big training camp on Gran Canary in January. I wanted to build a solid base for my first races this year, Challenge Dubai & Ironman 70.3 Philippines. As I always lose time in the water, I decided to set my focus on the swim for the first camp. After that camp, I felt well prepared for two half-distance races within nine days. My first priority race was Ironman 70.3 Philippines, because I try to qualify for the Ironman 70.3 World Championship in Zell am See later this year. One week before, I planned to compete in Challenge Dubai, the opener of the new “Triple Crown Series”. The days prior to the race went pretty well and I was keen on showing my improvements I achieved over the winter. Dubai Race day – change of plans: All I could do on race morning was pick up my ...
