2015 Dubai Tour leader’s jersey unveiled

Design by Sir Paul Smith and innovative fabric technology and fit by Castelli headline the 2015 Dubai Tour leader’s jersey. RCS Sport today unveiled the Official Dubai Tour 2015 leader’s jersey, designed by the British fashion designer Paul Smith and produced by the innovative Italian clothing partner Castelli. The four race jerseys, will be worn by the leaders of each race classification. Sir Paul Smith himself, who is arguably the most successful designer in British history, was behind the decision to partner with the Dubai Tour. He has been a cyclist for many years and has a passion for the sport, its heritage and its culture. Paul Smith’s iconic style is clearly evident in the design of the four jerseys and Sir Paul Smith’s signature will be very evident on the back and collar of the jerseys. “I was very pleased to be asked to design the Dubai Tour jerseys,” said Sir Paul Smith. “There are four jerseys, one for each of the different classifications and a key consideration in the design of each was keeping the riders cool. Alpha Jacket – Redesigning the Winter Jacket

Throw out everything you think you know about cycling jackets and redesign the way a jacket should be made. Or possibly how they’ll all be made in a few years when everyone else follows our lead once again. With the Alpha, we’re introducing several new techniques and fabrics to construct a lightweight, cool and cold weather jacket. We’ve focused on two perennial problems with cycling jackets and wind jerseys. First is ventilation. With our latest fabrics we can essentially build a winter jacket that will keep you warm in all but the most extreme conditions with just a base layer underneath. But when you open the front zipper you get a blast of cold air at the top of your chest, while the rest of your body remains too hot. OBSESSION WITH COMFORT In Alpha we’ve detached the insulation layer from the windproof layer so that you can open the windproof layer to let air in to ventilate and help evaporate moisture. BodyPaint, my favorite bibshorts

The BodyPaint 2.0 bibshorts are partially the result of feedback from our professional cycling teams, and up close there’s no denying this is a high-end performance piece. They’re a warm weather garment with a very low cut front and a nice airy mesh in back between the straps. The shorts on the Body Paint Bibshorts are formed from a single piece of seamless fabric for a naturally supportive fit. The short feels like it is hugging you perfectly in any position, thanks to this anatomic fit and the as well as a highly compressive fabric. The main body of the shorts is cut from a single piece of Lycra. This smooth fit, combined with the aero dimples employed in the material, make this is the most aerodynamic bib short on the market.
