T1:Stealth Top 2 | Shorten the bike leg

QUEEN K AND WIND TUNNEL TESTED Wind tunnel testing shows that an long-distance bike leg will go by almost 6 minutes quicker with the new T1:Stealth Top 2, compared to our sleeveless Free top. For version 2 we focused on improving the fit.
 The front is in a smooth stretch polyester fabric, while the back and shoulders use a specially developed dimpled fabric that helps the boundary layer of air detach from the body. The back blocks 94 percent of UV rays, providing reasonable race-day sun protection. Wear it over your sleeveless tri kit or, in hotter conditions, by itself, and you’ll be faster with the same effort. The fit is specific to the tri position to maximize aerodynamics without compromising weight and comfort. The top is meant to be worn on the bike only and features a full-length YKK® Vislon® zipper to help make it easy to put on and take off in transition. The T1:Stealth Top 2 is an absolute time saver for half- and long-distance races. The new T1:Stealth Top 2 is available in multiple color ways

Making Clothing for Champions – Mirinda “Rinny” Carfrae

It’s a long and sometimes complex journey before crossing the line to the cheers of the crowd as a winner. A season has to be planned carefully because long distance triathletes only have a limited number of shots a year for a big race. Just like the pros, Castelli also leaves nothing to chance, and is constantly thinking of how to improve products so that athletes can enjoy as many such moments as possible. This includes selecting the right fabrics, optimizing the pattern design, extensive in-house tests, wind tunnel tests and, last but not least, listening to our athletes. The collaboration with athletes like triple Ironman® world champion Mirinda Carfrae is an essential part when working on improvements and future concepts.

Inside the product. The revolutionary Free Aero Race Bibshort

The creation of the Free Bibshort was one of our greatest and most enjoyable challenges in recent years. How could we improve on a bibshort that was already considered the best by many cyclists, both professional and amateur? We deliberately did not totally revolutionize the entire structure of the traditional Free, which has made its way all over the world since 2007, but we have improved every single essential element in an effort to approach perfection. This process took two years of studies and field tests with our athletes. Riders from Cannondale Pro Cycling Team used it for a full season in their races and training, testing it in all weather conditions and over thousands of kilometers. Considering that a pro cyclist rides an average of about 30,000 km per year, this helps us confirm the durability of each individual material used in the Free Bibshort as well as ensuring a perfect fit for all the hours spent on the bike.       It’s probably the best short I’ve ever used.
