The 2018 Abu Dhabi Tour is now here, with the official start on Wednesday, February 21. The 5-stage race in the Emirates will be more interesting than ever, as its route is supposed to shuffle the cards thanks to a new ITT, together with 3 sprint stages and a hilly day. As announced, we’re supplying the official jerseys of the leaders of the race. They were specifically studied for the Abu Dhabi race, and they are anatomically shaped for a perfect aerodynamic balance and performance. The 11.8 time trial kilometers are put on the fourth stage, just before the final stage to the mountain finish of Jebel Hafeet. Before that, 3 sprinter stages are going to lead the group around the Emirates. Here you can see the peloton training inside the Yas Marina F1 Circuit in Abu Dhabi, the same the F1 cars have been using since 2009. No, you won’t see any car racing from this Wednesday, but we love to think that in the desert of the Emirates, the Abu Dhabi Tour can be even more fascinating. Esteban Chaves, Tanel Kangert and Rui Costa won the first 3 editions of the Abu Dhabi Tour. The fourth is coming soon, and the Middle East’s only World Tour race will be different from the past. For instance, there’s going to be an individual time trial on the second last stage. The stages will be five in total, rather than four like in the past years. The Tour is starting on February 21st and will be in the final mountain stage on February 25th. It’s going to be an iconic race in the desert, along the sea, in the islands and on the mountains of the Abu Dhabi area. The whole race has a total length of 686.8 kilometers. Three stages are meant for the sprinters, and the new time trial comes before the classic uphill stage to Jebel Hafeet, ...

cyclocross, News, Photo, Racing, USA cyclocross national championships, Video -

The mainly dry and spread out cyclocross nationals course in Reno was not your typical grueling cross course like those that span muddy Belgian hillsides. It was next to a sprawling dog park and a playground. It was at altitude but otherwise seemed almost benign. The real test for Cannondale-Cyclocrossworld.com riders Stephen Hyde and Kaitie Keough came perhaps mostly from within. Having raced alongside 13-time national champion Katie Compton for years, Keough knew that she had to be mentally able to overcome the seemingly unbeatable Compton. Her strong efforts on the day placed her on the third step of the podium with a bronze medal, but she was clearly looking for much more. As defending national champion, Stephen Hyde carried the pressure to repeat, as do all former national champions. He came to the race off of strong finishes in Belgium in December, but then was hit with patellar tendinitis coming into the new year. His heavily taped knee peeking out of his leg warmers did not seem like a good sign. On top of that, Hyde crashed and bloodied the same knee during a practice lap on race day. Having to mentally deal with that gnawing at him at ...
