Former track Olympic silver medalist and 5 time world champion, Theo Bos, will ride in Castelli and Team MTN-Qhubeka colors next season. Going pro in 2009, Theo has worn the Cervélo TestTeam, Rabobank and Belkin Pro-Cycling Team outfits over the last 5 years, Bos has been able to take his professional win tally up to 35 race victories. Most recently Bos won a stage in the World Tour event, Tour de Pologne, the overall GC victory at the World Ports classic and 4 stage wins in the crazy bunch sprints of Le Tour de Langkawi earlier in the year. Congrats to Julio Padilla with the RHC Barcelona victory, the 21 year old Guatemalan countered his teammates move perfectly to ride away from the field with only a few laps remaining to win the crit in his first attempt. The field caught him on the final straight but only after he had crossed the line with his arms raised high. After a long break from competition Michael Raelert has successfully returned to the racing scene. The Rostockian finished third at Challenge Walchsee-Kaiserwinkl in a very competitive race. Under rainy and extremely challenging conditions, the 34-year old crossed the line in 3:52:18. He finished close to the title and was beaten by just a few seconds. In 3:51:34 Italian Giulio Molinari celebrated the victory ahead of British Ritchie Nicholls (3:51:55) and Michael Raelert. “It was an incredibly tough race, but despite all that hard work it was great to be back into racing again.” Already during the 1.9 km swim in Lake Walchsee, Michael Raelert was leading his way. Although German Lukasz Wojt dominated the swim in 21:16 minutes, it was clear that he would not be among the best pro athletes at the end. Coming back from the Eurobike show, we decide to stop by the “Museo della Bicicletta” in Cosseria, a beautiful place near Savona, immersed into the mountains bordering the Ligurian sea. Luciano made the promoter for us at the Eurobike show, carrying his bike into the halls of the fair of Friedrichshafen dressed with a old cycling kit and a old bike with two hostess giving invitations and gifts about our Retro Party we did the evening before. Entering the museum of Cosseria seems the time has stopped if you look at what Luciano has collected: all the walls are completely covered by the most significant jerseys of cycling like Zoetemelk, Gimondi, Fondriest or Anquetil jerseys. He says he has more than 300 jerseys, and many of them are certainly Castelli but the biggest part of the collection is represented by a lot of Vittore Gianni jerseys, the 1897 brand that become Castelli in the 70’s. He has Vittore Gianni jersey of Marino Basso, Romeo Venturelli and other big names of the italian cycling. It was a very big surprise for us seeing that Vittore Gianni, the brand we represent today, made cycling equipment to all these champions, because our story is so ...
