cervelo test team, News, Philipp Deignan Castelli Month Rider -

It has been a few months since the Castelli24H crite race took place, and also last time we spoke to Cervélo’s Irishman, Philipp Deignan. We thought the Cervélo Team-Camp in Switzerland was a good excuse to catch up again. (part 1.) Looking back, how has 2009 been? The racing season is finally over and I’m looking forward to at least four weeks break after one of my most satisfying years in the professional ranks. I certainly feel like I have moved up a level this year and riding the Giro and the Vuelta in the same year was a valuable experience in terms of developing overall as a rider. “Winning a stage in the Vuelta is the obvious highlight of the season but completing two Grands Tours taught me a lot.” 2009 highlight? Winning a stage in the Vuelta is the obvious highlight of the season but completing two Grands Tours taught me a lot about the levels that I can go to and how my body can cope and recover well. Are there areas where you are better than before? Finishing Tour of Lombardy of almost 250 kilometres so late in the season was a positive for me and ...

joe parkin castelli, News -

Joe Parkin has been a member of the Castelli family since 1998, when the brand was re-launched in the United States. Joe left home and the USA at age 19 to pursue a career as a professional cyclist in Europe – as career that spanned more than a decade. It was after retiring from the sport, where he often found himself coveting other riders’ clothing that was adorned with the Scorpion logo, that he helped launch and build Castelli in North America. Joe took a hiatus from the Italian brands in 1995 to pursue another passion – motorsport, and to write his first book A Dog in a Hat, but has since proudly returned to the Scorpion family. I finished reading the book (unblinking) during the eight hour oversea flight back to Europe. Its almost impossible to put Parkin’s book down before you’ve come to the final page. It for sure occupies a primary spot on every bike racers bookshelf! Its not only Parkin’s story what makes the book so good, but his perspective. His acceptance and choices, his training, team-mates, and you hope for him, all the while knowing that there is no glorious win, no big-time contract. I ...

Innovative fabrics headline the improved 2010 Cervélo TestTeam kit.  Cervélo TestTeam unveiled its new kit at the team’s first meeting for the 2010 season in Basel, Switzerland. “We’re really happy with the new design of the kit,” said Gerard Vroomen, co-founder of Cervélo. “The Cervélo TestTeam riders are back in black, making it easy to pick them out of the bunch. While Castelli has gone more futuristic in its fabrics, the look is updated with the classic bar across the chest, harking back to the bike industry teams of yesteryear. Finally, the signature ‘e’ logo on the back really stands out.” “We’ve gone a lot further this season than simply making cosmetic changes,” emphasized Steve Smith, Brand Manager, Castelli. “After one year and almost one million kilometers of testing with Cervélo TestTeam riders under all conditions—from the wind tunnel to racing in every kind of weather—the Castelli Tech Labs have made over 60 refinements to the team’s clothing for the 2010 season.” Principal performance improvements were developed based on new Castelli research in aerodynamics and enhanced body-temperature management in all weather conditions.
