Hushovd, Haussler, FarrarTeam Garmin-Cervelo will head into the Tour of Flanders with three strong names consisting of Tyler Farrar, Thor Hushovd and Heinrich Haussler.

Despite strength in numbers they are well aware that the man to beat will Fabian Cancellara, but Farrar, who finished fourth last year, is confident that the team can play all their cards in a bid to not just stop Cancellara, but also win the team’s first Classic.

Garmin-Cervélo, Omloop Het Nieuwsblad 2011Omloop Het Nieuwsblad kicked off the 2011 Belgian road classic cycling season.

Garmin-Cervélo had three riders in the top fifty on Saturday, Omloop Het Nieuwsblad, with Martijn Maaskant claiming the team’s best placing in 7th followed by Thor Hushovd in 33rd and Andreas Klier in 34th. The following day in Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne things were looking good as the race came down to a bunch sprint but Tyler Farrar got boxed in as the sprint opened up and manage 4th place.

After Cameron Meyer’s overall victory in Tour Down Under, Tyler Farrar’s two stage wins in Trofeo Palma de Mallorca, Heinrich Haussler was outsprinting everyone today taking his second stage win in Tour of Qatar, plus claiming the gold leader’s jersey.
