Record-breaking Hawaii 2017
This year’s World Championship was packed with action and new records.
Lots of athletes took advantage of the ideal conditions with mirror flat water and almost no wind on race day.
Australian Cameron Wurf put everything on one card early in the race and set a new bike record.
Like last year, Patrick Lange brought his strength into play on the concluding marathon and took the title and a course record in winning the World Championship in a thrilling race. The German won in 8:01:40 and broke the previous record of Craig Alexander (8:03:56) from 2011.
