Frederik Van Lierde took his 5th Ironman France title
2013 Ironman world champion Frederik Van Lierde took another title on his favorite Ironman course on the French Riviera yesterday.
From the start of the race he had a good feeling, leading the chase pack in the swim that gave him already a first confidence boost. The bike leg announced to be hard since a lot of excellent riders were in the pack. At about 100 km Cameron Wurf (AUS) joined the front group and started his impressive move.
“I cannot describe how happy I am with this victory, the 5th here in Nice. No need to mention this is one of the most iconic races in triathlon. Seeing my name 5 times on that victory list is just a dream come true.”
