Behind the Scenes: Fall Riding With Ryder Hesjedal

Canada’s Eastern Townships is a well-known region for his many cycling trails and bike-friendly towns. Surrounded by lakes and the Appalachian mountains, fall is without a doubt the best season to ride your bike. The light and the colours create a mesmerizing set for all cycling enthusiasts seeking for great rides. Fall cycling also rhyme with changing temperatures. And by changing temperatures we obviously mean sun, cold and rain (sometimes at the same time). The question burning on all lips when it comes to clothing during this kind of temperature is: What should I wear?  “The challenge of fall riding is the way you will dress, when we started early morning it was 3 degrees sunny and windy, then it warmth up and at the end we got some rain. Riding the Sella Ronda

The Dolomites have a lot to offer to cyclists: spectacular peaks and legendary passes. To race or simply to get a glimpse of one of the many rides that the Dolomites are offering, Sella Ronda is maybe one of the most reachable circuit with a length of 55 kilometres and a gained altitude of 1780 metres. We have gathered five women, part of our women’s cycling community, to experience the mythical Sella Ronda pass in the Dolomites and share their passion for cycling. State of feverish excitement, joyful anticipation, fears, advices, were all shared by every single one of them during the three days journey. Surrounded by a spirit of camaraderie and mutual help, the group was challenged with different types of weather conditions (rain, sun, mist, cold) which they were easily able to defeat with the right piece of clothing like the Gabba and the Perfetto. Red Hook 2017 Milano

It has become the can’t-miss event for the brakeless, fixed-gear world. Today, the Red Hook Criterium is the king of the fixie events, and Milano just hosted the last crit of the year. Castelli was there too, not only with the official Red Hook jersey but also with two participating teams. Our women’s team partner LA Sweat was in the race, and the men’s team Cykeln showed off a violet and mint green Castelli skinsuit. After Brooklyn, London and Barcelona, Milano is the fourth city on the Red Hook calendar. It was the second race to be established, after the concept was launched in the Red Hook neighborhood of the New York City borough of Brooklyn. Bovisa, the university district north of Milano, hosted the event, where 34 different countries were represented by the participating athletes. More than 10,000 spectators attended the race. It was a very special day of cycling indeed.
