The Italian Team might not approach the race with the best preparation possible due to Nibali and Moscon troubles, but Cassani will try to play the best possible with the cards he has in his hands. Gianni Moscon is certainly one of the Italian riders to keep an eye on Sunday. The race might me too hard for such a rider, and someone doubts about him due to the long stop after the Tour de France. Team training camps are always a mix of training, gear testing and preparation, alongside some free time for the riders and staff to relax together. Davide Cassani’s Italian selection for the 2018 world championships set up camp there to fine-tune the riders’ preparation, build team spirit, and create the right atmosphere to move to Innsbruck on Thursday and try to take the rainbow jersey on Sunday. Like every year, the Ironman® World Championships in Kona is the showdown for most pro and amateur triathletes. Over 2,000 athletes will tackle the 226k distance next Saturday. At 6:35am the male pros will start the race, followed by the female pros only five minutes later. The pack of age group athletes will follow at 7:05 (men) and 7:20 (women). Castelli has phenomenal athletes at the start this year.
