Jury Verdict FOX is back! The new 36 is the flagship of the cult American manufacturer and has its sights set on domination of the current suspension market. The feature-packed fork is impressive not only in its record-breaking weight, but also in its on-trail performance. The 36 provides a precise ride in the roughest terrain, while remaining plush and defined, absorbing the big hits with ease. Racers will love this monster! And let’s be honest: with the massive Kashima- coated stanchions and typical Fox looks, the new FOX 36 also looks awesome – even the fiddly wheel removal due to the weight-optimised thru axle can’t upset that

Jury Verdict The Name ENVE doesn’t just stand for classy, high-tech carbon rims, but also for the consistent search for technical perfection. No effort is too great for the US manufacturer as they strive towards building the strongest, stiffest, and lightest wheels – and you can see it in every fibre (ENVE have even sacrificed a layer of varnish to lower the weight of their rims). With a class-leading reputation, the ENVE M70 Thirty Carbon wheels are impressive with their low weight, high rigidity, and typical ENVE look. The model number, carried over the whole MTB range, defines the intended use of the rim (70 % downhill, 30 % uphill) and makes finding the right wheel easier. With a 5-year guarantee and an attractive crash replacement program, ENVE even score points in terms of customer friendliness.

Jury Verdict The small r in the name TRSr wheels stands for racing, defining the high expectations that e.thirteen wants to fulfill with its top wheels. In order to meet the increased demands of racing, oversize hubs with a carbon body are used to increase rigidity. Wider but lighter rims and a one-year guarantee complement the coherent overall package. The TRSr wheels prove that you don’t have to use a carbon rim to build a light and strong wheel – e.thirteen has focused on the wishes of their customers, swapping bling bling carbon in favour of price and durability. And the TRSr wheels look no less awesome for it.

Jury Verdict The Ergon engineers have put years of experience designing ergonomic grips into the GA2 models. The result is a very well thought-out grip which not only looks stylish, but is also full of clever features. New, for example, is the clamp on the inside edge of the grip which gives you more room to position your hands. The elaborate texturising offers grip where you need it, while varying wall thicknesses on the inner core create a high degree of damping comfort. You can’t see it, but you will feel it all the more. The Ergon GA2 grips reduce the loads on your hands and lower arms noticeably, and will thus reduce arm fatigue on long descents. Say goodbye to arm pump!

Jury Verdict The American firm DVO doesn’t want to build the lightest 160 mm-suspension fork – they want to build the best performing, and their newest creation may just win you over! The minds behind the young start-up have a great deal of experience in the suspension market and have created an impressive damping system for their single crown fork. The suspension response is outstanding, but the Diamond also has lots more to offer. You can adjust the initial plushness using a negative spring in the air chamber, and we were impressed with the machined adjustment knobs, integrated mudguard, and the option to reduce the travel to 140mm. With a weight of 2037g, the DVO Diamond is absolutely competitive, and the Americans have landed an impressive debut!
