Design isn’t about making things, it’s about making SENSE of things. The past few years have seen an overwhelming amount of new technology. Many have made riding better for all it’s users (dropper posts). There are also many that are getting seriously technical and in-depth. Many mountain bikers likely do not understand the inner workings of a shock let alone want to deal with servicing one. Jury Verdict The CANYON Strive CF sets a new benchmark, combining versatility and smart simplicity like no other bike on the market! At the press of a button suspension travel, spring rate, and geometry can be effectively adapted thanks to the innovative Shape-Shifter technology, instantly switching from a mountain goat into a downhill monster. On the trail the Strive CF impresses like no other with a perfectly balanced geometry and ride performance developed together with Fabien Barel. The world class design and integration of all components show great attention to detail. Combined with the uncompromising specification and the potent suspension system, the Strive CF is a ready-to-race carbon dream-bike. Jury Verdict With the equally stylish and functional Ace Kit, Troy Lee Designs has managed to unify two essential characteristics of a good bike outfit. The Ace Kit is available in a number of colour options, and with faultless workmanship and well thought-out features create a high level of comfort; while the not-too-baggy, well-proportioned cut of the kit scores a direct hit.

Jury Verdict The advantages of a dropper seatpost are undeniable, which is why this feature is an absolute must-have for trail and enduro bikes. But let’s be honest, when it comes to maintenance, there’s hardly a seatpost out there that can guarantee long-term trail fun. Thankfully there’s now the Vecnum moveLOC! The high-end post from the Allgau-based company impresses with its simple and ingenious technology: even if one part fails it will still continue working. In addition, not only is it the lightest in its class, but it also possesses the largest adjustment range on the market with up to 200mm of drop. The post is designed for maximum strength from top-to-bottom, minimum maintenance, and maximum function even in the case of a failure – German engineering at its best!
