Giant has completely reworked its LIV/GIANT women’s range for 2014 and created a few new high- lights.

“Simple, beautiful and elegant”: these are the three qualities that the jet-black Scott Genius 910 radiates. The only colorful spots on the bike are the adjustment dials on the fork and shock; otherwise it is almost totally black. It reminds us of a fast thoroughbred racehorse, a Black Beauty eager for the next jump. So let’s get out into the woods to give her some spurs!

On the lookout for the fastest enduro bike, we came across the Specialized Stumpjumper Evo 29 in issue #006. This made us even more excited at the prospect of trying out the cheaper version in this test.

The Rose Granite Chief was completely redesigned for the 2014 season and got 27.5” wheels as well as a new shock pivot and a one degree slacker head angle.

The Radon Slide E1 came to the party dressed in black. It doesn’t need fancy lettering or stickers to impress us, preferring to achieve this with a well-conceived, high-quality specification, consisting of flawless RockShox suspension, a classy Syntace cockpit, and solid Elixir 9 Trail brakes.
