Team Sky and Castelli Reveal 2019 Race Kit

Team Sky and Castelli today unveiled the new kit for the 2019 season and revealed a return to black for the team’s tenth year in the peloton. The kit incorporates a blue to black gradient, with the blue being inspired by the team’s commitment to Sky Ocean Rescue (SOR). The SOR logo is also prominent on the collar of the jersey, as the team continues to raise awareness of Sky’s campaign to help inspire simple, everyday changes to stop our oceans from drowning in plastic. The jersey retains the iconic line on the back, a defining feature that has been ever-present since the team’s inception, while rider names have moved back to the side of the jersey, echoing the team’s previous designs. We are looking back on another Kona Ironman, a memorable race in many aspects. Congrats to all athletes on racing this year and performing with the very best in this sports. Some had the race of their life, others were not able to realise their dreams. We would especially like to emphasize Cameron Wurf’s bike performance. Wearing the all new PR Speed Suit (more here) he set the new record to 4:09:06. The Pease brothers (Kyle and Brent) fulfilled a dream of a lifetime and finished after 14:28:59. Cameron Wurf debuts PR Speed Suit in Kona

Kona will be the first showing of the all new PR SPEED SUIT. This suit is the most recent result of a collaboration with the Norwegian Technical University (NTNU) in Trondheim. Cameron Wurf will be wearing the new NTNU developed PR SPEED SUIT in a race for the very first time. It’s not a “pro only” development and the exact same suit will be available to the public in spring 2019. Discover the entire Castelli triathlon collection in the meantime.

Video: Dreaming of the rainbow jersey

Valverde finally has the rainbow jersey. He had come close on so many previous occasions, with six medals already, but he finally took the victory in Innsbruck this year. Among a few stars, our rider Gianni Moscon shone, doing an amazing job and finishing in fifth place, escorted carefully by the complete Italian team until the last brutal climb, Höttinger Höll. We are pretty sure that one day, quite soon, we will wear the world champion’s jersey, but in the meantime we want to say thank you to Camilla Alessio, Tatiana Guderzo, Gabriele Benedetti, Alessandro Fancellu, Marco Frigo, Andrea Piccolo, Samuele Rubino, Antonio Tiberi and all the Italian riders who gave us the opportunity to experience some very special moments that we will never forget.
