castelli, edition, gabba, Introducing Gabba 3 and Perfetto Limited Edition, limited, News -

Ever since a particularly cold and snowy edition of Milan-San Remo in 2013, the Gabba has been the most sought-after jersey in a cyclist’s wardrobe. Inheriting the style and performance of their predecessors, the Gabba 3 and Perfetto Long Sleeve Limited Edition jerseys are back in Barbaresco Red and Giro Pink. Designed using Windstopper® X-Lite Plus and Castelli’s exclusive Nano Flex material, the jerseys deliver superior performance with regard to wind protection, water resistance and moisture management. The jerseys feature a truly aero and stylish cut with a close-to-body fit that still provides full freedom of movement. With plenty of space for all your riding essentials, the Perfetto and Gabba jerseys consist of three rear pockets with laser-cut drains holes so that rain doesn’t soak your valuables. This is combined with a silicone gripper to prevent any sag or jersey ride-up and a splash flap on the back to make it lie flatter and fit better. The reflective logo back there keeps you visible.

On Tuesday morning, I wrote a small post on my personal website about my first UCI race since January 2016. I had wanted to write it on Sunday night or at least Monday morning, but when disappointment hits, writing a post to tell the world about how badly you feel about a race, isn’t the first thing you want to do – or do at all. I spent most of the travel home and Sunday night being annoyed with myself, doubting myself and asking myself if I maybe should have just retired after all. I choose to return to cyclocross because I wanted to show that I have still more to give and mostly proof to myself that I could come back after a series of illnesses and injuries. But one thing that I have battled with more than ever since I made the decision to come back is my own thoughts. I have always said that my head is my Achilles heel and worst enemy when it comes to racing, sometimes I think it is worse dealing with that than the injury I have dealt with over the last 18 months. I am lucky to have a great partner ...

It was a brilliant week for the Italian national team at the 2017 UCI Road World Championships. Italy won the most medals in Bergen, with seven – all in the junior categories. Elena Pirrone doubled up for the gold medals in the time trial and road race. In the junior men’s road race, Luca Rastelli and Michele Gazzoli won the minor medals, while Alessia Vigilia won silver in the junior women’s time trial and Letizia Paternoster bronze in the road race. In the elite men’s road race, Italy was one of the dominant teams marking all the moves when the morning breakaway came back, with Alessandro De Marchi going in the break with a few laps to go, Gianni Moscon bridging across when Julian Alaphilippe launched a stinging attack on the final climb of Salmon Hill, and Alberto Bettiol leading out Matteo Trentin, who came close to his first world championships podium finish in a head-to-head sprint with some of the world’s fastest sprinters. Trentin showed form in his preparation for the worlds after bagging five wins in the last month (four stages at La Vuelta a España and the Primus Classic). He was less than satisfied with missing out ...

The one-day race so many pro riders have been preparing for is finally upon us: the 2017 UCI Road World Championships elite men’s road race. The wild coastal landscape of western Norway will mark the start of the men’s race. The wobbly 267.5 km course should make for an unpredictable contest, compounded by the potential for tricky weather, or what some riders would call “Perfetto, Gabba” conditions. The field will have plenty of big names hoping to take the rainbow jersey on Sunday. The Castelli-equipped Italian national road team, with the Italian ‘commissario tecnico’, Davide Cassani, arrived in Bergen on Thursday to check out the course and stretch their legs before the fireworks begin on Sunday. Italy has a strong lineup for Sunday (see full list below). Elia Viviani and Matteo Trentin are two strong contenders for an Italian world championships success. Viviani was second at the European road race, which came down to a reduced bunch sprint, and his Italian teammate Trentin is also on form after bagging five wins in the last month (four stages at La Vuelta a España and the Primus Classic). With the possibility of a late escape also coming into play, Gianni Moscon, Sonny Colbrelli and ...

Hi all! My name is Margriet Kloppenburg, 29-year-old Danish cyclocross racer. Some of you might have seen me showing off some great wet weather gear in the past and current Castelli catalogues. If you follow bike racing, you might also have seen my name in some road and cross results over the years or even seen me pop up on your TV screen on the occasions where our races have been streamed or televised. I met the amazing people of Castelli about 2 years ago while I was still living in Belgium (I moved to the UK in November 2016 with by British partner, James Spragg). Through some friends they contacted me to see if I wanted to help them out with a photo shoot near Oudenaarde, where I lived at the time. I had time, so I jumped in the project. It was a fun day out and we stayed in touch. I was over the moon when Castelli decided to become the clothing partner of Inthemud.cx (the cyclocross team we were, me and my boyfriend, until the end of 2016) for the 2016–2017 season. Our main sponsor very unexpectedly pulled out and we were left with no money ...
