Cameron Wurf debuts PR Speed Suit in Kona

Kona will be the first showing of the all new PR SPEED SUIT. This suit is the most recent result of a collaboration with the Norwegian Technical University (NTNU) in Trondheim. Cameron Wurf will be wearing the new NTNU developed PR SPEED SUIT in a race for the very first time. It’s not a “pro only” development and the exact same suit will be available to the public in spring 2019. Discover the entire Castelli triathlon collection in the meantime.

Milano-Torino – A race with a long history

Castelli traces its roots back to 1876, when Vittore Gianni founded his fine tailoring business in the heart of Milan. That same year saw the first edition of Milano-Torino, the oldest bicycle race still on the calendar today, at 142 years. Now in its 99th edition, the 200-kilometer end-of-season cycling battle that has been won by great climbing specialists and puncheurs is set to put on another show, with the riders tackling the Colle di Superga for the first time at 24 kilometers to the finish. The spectacular hill overlooking Turin is a real climb, with a gradient averaging 9.1 percent over 4.9 kilometers. The iconic hill will thin out the peloton and see some riders try to attack in an attempt to build a gap there and on the technical descent that leads back to Turin before the second and final ascent of the hill with 5 kilometers to go. The 2016 edition was won by Diego Rosa who soloed to victory on the run into Torino, 3:13 minutes ahead of Sergio Henao and Alberto Contador. How will Diego and the rest of Team Sky perform today? Kona Training and Questions with Mirinda Carfrae and Timothy O’Donnell

As we head into the biggest race week of the year, we wanted to share some insights that Mirinda Carfrae and Timothy O’Donnell have gained over many years of training and racing, some humbling, some downright hilarious. We spent a day with them in Boulder at the end of August, and followed them during dawn laps in the pool, to the gym, out on the bike, and finally back home. We sat down with them for a Q&A session where we were able to hear their thoughts on past mistakes, musical guilty pleasures, and what it has been like to be a part of the triathlon world over the years.

1270 meters of pure adrenaline. That’s what the Milan Bovisa Red Hook Crit. racing track is. We’ve seen plenty of watts put on that tarmac on Saturday for the awesome Milan stage of the Red Hook Crit. It was the ninth edition of RHC in Milan, nonetheless, the show and the fun are still the same. The very exciting atmosphere, street food, beer and strong women and men on bikes. You can’t ask more! Milano-Torino, Gran Piemonte and Il Lombardia: the end of the concert

Concerts all ends in the same way. The band plays one of the best songs and then disappears behind the stage, leaving a yelling public hoping they will come back for two or three more songs. The cycling season is just the same, with the world championships being the best song played by the best band in the world — a peloton dressed up in national kit colors battling for the rainbow jersey. This year we’ve been amazed by an amazing race on Innsbruck course (yes, the one ending with the brutal Hottinger Holl climb we tested for you) won by the immortal Alejandro Valverde. Luckily for us, the riders are staying behind the curtain for just 10 days and will be back in action on October 10 to play three fantastic songs on our very special Italian stage. First up on the playlist is Milano-Torino, the oldest classic on the entire calendar, raced the first time in 1876. It’s so deeply rooted in Italian cycling culture that there is even an unofficial, self-supported amateur version of it in July called Coppa Tre Zone.
