Official launch of the Cervélo Test Team.

Tour de France champion Carlos Sastre, former Green Jersey Thor Hushovd and Olympic time trial champion Kirsten Armstrong were amongst the men and women featured at the official launch of the new Cervélo TestTeam along Portugal’s Algarve coast on January 18th. A total of 25 men and 12 women make up the 2009 squads, which have the aim of targeting the biggest races in the sport. The team is committed to clean racing and specifically searched out riders who would live by a strong ethical code. The team will lean heavily on the expanding biological passport program, but also closely monitor riders for any signs of cheating. The team queried riders and staff to create its foundation of values. Four words are written along the leg of their jersey uniforms – innovate, sacrifice, unite and succeed – with a fifth, honesty, up along the collar.

HAMMOND & SASTRE – FIRST TO TEST NANO-FLEX! After our meeting with the Cervélo Test Team in December, we gave a pair of the Fulmine bibtights with NanoFlex treatment to two riders that every year are facing a lot of kilometers in wet and chilly winter conditions. Roger Hammond who live’s in the heart of Belgium is doing most of his winter training in the area of Brussels and in the UK. Carlos Sastre lives about 1000 m above sea-level in the mountains north of Madrid in Spain. He was looking for something to keep him warm but more important dry for his winter riding.
