Castelli to sponsor National Team Jersey

Italian brand becomes official partner and sponsor of Italian National Cycling Federation for 2014 UCI Road World Championships in Spain. Castelli has signed an exclusive partnership agreement with the Italian National Cycling Federation for the 2014 UCI Road World Championships, which will be held in the historic city of Ponferrada in northwest Spain from September 21 to 28. The sponsorship is further evidence of the Italian brand’s dedication to making clothing that provides a competitive advantage. Castelli has been the technical sponsor of the Italian National Cycling Federation since 2010. The advanced cycling apparel brand has created the best cycling garments on the market by working with teams racing at the highest level. “We currently work with three professional teams, and after four years of supplying the national team clothing it’s exciting to take the next step and become official sponsor of the national team,” said Castelli vice president Dario Cremonese. “We’re delighted to extend our partnership with Castelli. Alex Zanardi – Touch The Sky

This is a short, but very intimate portrait of Alex Zanardi, the former Formula 1 driver and winner of the American Champ Car Series. Alex was already a star, when he had his almost fatal accident at the Lausitzring in Germany. He lost his legs, but not his attitude. Alex Zanardi came back and did the impossible. He won races in the World Touring Car Championship, two gold medals at the Paralympics in London 2012 and just recently two hand bike world titles. It was a unique experience to spend a day with him at his house in Padova, talking about his life and joining him for a training session with his hand bike. Going to Italy? Swing by the bicycle museum of Cosseria

Make sure to spend a few hours at the Museo della Bicicletta on your next trip to the North-West part of Italy. Cyclist since forever, Luciano Berruti is an unique character, a man out of time, fond of bicycles, and raced 18 editions of the world famous amateur race, Eroica di Gaiole in Chianti. The 205-kilometer cycling race winds its way through dirt and gravel roads in the hills of Tuscany. At rest stops along the course, they are fed a decidedly unathletic diet of prosciutto, salame and Chianti wine. Many ride one-speed antique bicycles, some of which are 100 years old. The retired construction worker Berruti usually ride his single-gear Peugeot bicycle from 1907. “She makes me feel young,” said the mustachioed rider in a patched-up sweater.  In 1999, Luciano opened a cycling museum in Cosseria, a village in the province of Savona, not far from Cairo Montenotte, on the north side of Apennines of Liguria.  Enjoy the video! With our latest fabrics we can essentially build a winter jacket that will keep you warm in all but the most extreme conditions with just a base layer underneath.
