The Castelli weekly “Guess the Location” contest is underway. Every week till April 2, 2016, Castelli fans can guess the local location of a photo shot by @jeredgruber, and correct guesses will be entered to win a prize. Entering is easy and open to all Castelli Newsletter subscribers. If you know the location of the above photo, send us your answer and shipping details by email to blog@castelli-cycling.com. Don’t forget to include ‘Guess The Location‘ in your email subject line. GABBA 2 is phenomenal because it keeps out the elements while offering excellent breathability and stretch combined with a perfect fit. Pro riders appreciate this product for racing in foul conditions but what does it represent for everyone else? You probably love it in any weather that doesn’t involve sunshine. This jersey keeps you warm and dry and provides protection from wind and light rain. But the real question is: why does Castelli offer a long sleeve version? Standard long sleeve jerseys are good to be worn as part of a layering system, but are they really suitable as an outer layer over a base layer? They can be used for summer evenings to take the chill off and for spring, autumn and winter months when the temperature is not too low. And what about rain and wind? The next four weeks, we have decided to give away Castelli gifts (Linea Pella cream tubes, Ass-Savers, water bottles, T-shirts) to 10 lucky members of the Castelli Squadra Corse Strava Cycling Club. Each rider who logs minimum 300 kilometers (186 miles) per week from February 8 to March 7, 2016, will participate in the contest. For this year’s Dubai Tour Mark Cavendish (the 2015 winner) will be in an illustrious circle of champions that includes Sir Bradley Wiggins, Philippe Gilbert, Rui Costa, Fabian Cancellara, Tony Martin and a band of sprinters including Elia Viviani and Andrea Guardini and Marcel Kittel. DUBAI TOUR 2016 STAGES The Dubai Tour is made up from three stages suited to the sprinters and one – stage three, The Westin Stage – to the puncheurs. The only fact that might split the race during the opening two stages are crosswinds that could come into play on the more open roads across the desert. Stage three repeats the uphill finish to Hatta Dam that was won by John Degenkolb last year. The German will miss the race but the short and steep climb (200 m) is ideally suited for riders like Juan Jose Lobato (Movistar) or Philippe Gilbert (BMC). The final stage without any climbing will probably be decided in a bunch sprint and should fix – together with bonus points – the order of the final classification.
