The men’s and women’s jersey are made from 3D mesh fabric on the front and shoulders to keep the jersey aero, light and dry, and the waist band to keep the 3 rear and zippered key pocket in place. The 3D nature of the fabric means that most of it never touches your skin, so it never clings or absorbs water. Pour a bottle over your head to cool down, and moments later the jersey is back at race weight. Waiting for the Giro d’Italia (-3 days), we enjoy some pictures of the craziest weather we have ever seen in April. Thank you Jered, Ashley Gruber and Graham Watson for your awesome work.  

Covered sleeves became indispensable for optimized aerodynamics on the bike. Knowing about possible time savings on the bike from our cycling background we started working on a triathlon specific bike top in 2012. At the beginning we sticked with a long sleeve version, the fastest option and still state of the art for the fastest time trial suits. Experience in practice has shown that long sleeves and 1/2 zipper might not be the best solution for triathlon. A compromise between practicability and best aerodynamics was needed. Towards Kona 2013 Castelli produced a small run of pre-production samples for the world championships and outfitted Timothy O’Donnell with a first customized T1:Stealth Top. At that time the Stealth took the world by storm and helped Timothy to improve his bike split by over nine minutes from the year before. Timothy and his wife – triple Ironman world champion Mirinda Carfare – were involved in the development process of that top from the very beginning.
