The past few days of the Vuelta a Espana have been marred by drama with Alberto Contador (Tinkoff-Saxo) looking strong in the lead as the second week of the race unfolds. In this piece we bring you a gallery of images from stages 12 to 15. Hesjedal had been in the company of Olivier Zaugg (Tinkoff-Saxo) in the closing kilometres but dropped the Swiss rider and going on to win stage 14 by 10 seconds. Tyler Farrar Joins Team MTN-Qhubeka

Bringing to end a near-decade with one team and embarking on a new project with another, Tyler Farrar has confirmed that he will race with the Team MTN-Qhubeka squad in 2015. The American has taken six individual stages in Grand Tours; one in the 2011 Tour de France, two in the 2010 Giro d’Italia and three Vuelta stages between 2009 and 2010. However his rate of victories has slowed in the past two seasons and the 30 year old is looking for a fresh start to try to get things back on track. “I am really excited and happy to be joining Team MTN-Qhubeka next year,” he said. “This is a big change for me in my cycling career after having spent seven years with my current team. I feel it is the perfect timing for me to move on though and Team MTN-Qhubeka is definitely the team that appealed to me the most.” Farrar is part of a general fortifying of the team; new signings include Edvald Boasson Hagen and Theo Bos and, together with the current team captain Gerald Ciolek, the team will have a strong sprinting and Classics presence in 2015. Theo Bos Joins Team MTN-Qhubeka

Former track Olympic silver medalist and 5 time world champion, Theo Bos, will ride in Castelli and Team MTN-Qhubeka colors next season. Going pro in 2009, Theo has worn the Cervélo TestTeam, Rabobank and Belkin Pro-Cycling Team outfits over the last 5 years, Bos has been able to take his professional win tally up to 35 race victories. Most recently Bos won a stage in the World Tour event, Tour de Pologne, the overall GC victory at the World Ports classic and 4 stage wins in the crazy bunch sprints of Le Tour de Langkawi earlier in the year. Team MTN-Qhubeka p/b Samsung is delighted to welcome the Dutchman to Africa’s professional cycling Team.   “I am really excited to be joining Team MTN-Qhubeka.
