Team Sky and Castelli today unveiled the new kit for the 2019 season and revealed a return to black for the team’s tenth year in the peloton. The kit incorporates a blue to black gradient, with the blue being inspired by the team’s commitment to Sky Ocean Rescue (SOR). The SOR logo is also prominent on the collar of the jersey, as the team continues to raise awareness of Sky’s campaign to help inspire simple, everyday changes to stop our oceans from drowning in plastic. The jersey retains the iconic line on the back, a defining feature that has been ever-present since the team’s inception, while rider names have moved back to the side of the jersey, echoing the team’s previous designs. Team Sky Principal Sir Dave Brailsford said: “We’ve enjoyed another fantastic year of collaboration with Castelli and are delighted with our new look for 2019.” “Castelli share our attitude and outlook in their approach to research and development and we have been continually impressed by their pioneering work from the moment our relationship started. They have played a major role in our success over the past two seasons and are a big part of Team Sky.” “This year’s ...

1876, autumn classic, castelli, il lombardia, milano torino, Racing, rcs -

Castelli traces its roots back to 1876, when Vittore Gianni founded his fine tailoring business in the heart of Milan. That same year saw the first edition of Milano-Torino, the oldest bicycle race still on the calendar today, at 142 years. Now in its 99th edition, the 200-kilometer end-of-season cycling battle that has been won by great climbing specialists and puncheurs is set to put on another show, with the riders tackling the Colle di Superga for the first time at 24 kilometers to the finish. The spectacular hill overlooking Turin is a real climb, with a gradient averaging 9.1 percent over 4.9 kilometers. The iconic hill will thin out the peloton and see some riders try to attack in an attempt to build a gap there and on the technical descent that leads back to Turin before the second and final ascent of the hill with 5 kilometers to go. The 2016 edition was won by Diego Rosa who soloed to victory on the run into Torino, 3:13 minutes ahead of Sergio Henao and Alberto Contador. How will Diego and the rest of Team Sky perform today? Here’s their lineup for the 2018 edition of Milano-Torino: Egan Arley Bernal Gomez ...

Valverde finally has the rainbow jersey. He had come close on so many previous occasions, with six medals already, but he finally took the victory in Innsbruck this year. Among a few stars, our rider Gianni Moscon shone, doing an amazing job and finishing in fifth place, escorted carefully by the complete Italian team until the last brutal climb, Höttinger Höll. We are pretty sure that one day, quite soon, we will wear the world champion’s jersey, but in the meantime we want to say thank you to Camilla Alessio, Tatiana Guderzo, Gabriele Benedetti, Alessandro Fancellu, Marco Frigo, Andrea Piccolo, Samuele Rubino, Antonio Tiberi and all the Italian riders who gave us the opportunity to experience some very special moments that we will never forget. Thank you, ITALIA! Watch the video to relive these moments. Enjoy!
