Hello again, CyclingTips readers.

We cross over the midway point of the week with news that could be tough for fans of racing in the dirt to hear, as the 2020 editions of both the Leadville Trail 100 MTB and SBT GRVL have been cancelled.

The pair of events had been scheduled for the same weekend (Leadville on August 15 and SBT on August 16) and some particularly adventurous racers had been targeting the LeadBoat Challenge of completing both events back to back.

Instead, riders will have to wait until next year. On the bright side for potential racers, organizers of both events have announced that participants can either defer their entries or request a refund.

Until next time, readers.

Two of the marquee events of the American off-road racing scene have been cancelled for 2020.

A few hours later, organizers of the Leadville Race Series announced that all events – including the popular Leadville Trail 100 MTB race – are cancelled for this year following a decision by officials in Lake County, Colorado, to call off all large events this summer.

Both events are offering registrants a choice to either defer entry to the future, or request a refund.
