When all was said and done, Matej Mohorič won stage 7 of the Tour de France solo, and Mathieu van der Poel (Alpecin-Fenix) kept yellow, but the peloton had been through the equivalent of a 12-round boxing match – 250 kilometers full gas.
The longest stage of the Tour in 21 years did not disappoint as the riders came out swinging from the start gun, finishing more than 20 minutes ahead of the fastest estimated time for the stage.
Judging by their tweets, there will be many tired and sore legs tomorrow. Enjoy!
