Marion Rousse is taking charge of the Tour de France Femmes
It was announced today that Marion Rousse, former pro cyclist and current FranceTV consultant, has been appointed director of the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift, to give the race its full name.
“I intend on giving my all to ensure that this race becomes a ritual of the public, and for a long time.”
Rousse raced professionally between 2010 and 2015, earning the French National Championship road title in 2012 and spending three years in a Lotto Soudal jersey. Since hanging up her wheels, Rousse has been a familiar voice on French race broadcasts, and she held the position of deputy director for the 2019 Tour de Provence and 2020 Tour de Savoie Mont-Blanc.
The women’s Tour de France will get its long-awaited renaissance in 2022, returning as an eight-day race starting on July 24, the day the men’s Tour ends. Rousse is due to announce the details of next year’s stages on Thursday (October 14) at the Palais des Congrès in Paris.
