| Israel Start-Up Nation completes its 2021 roster with extensions for Boivin and Hollenstein

The Israel Start-Up Nation team said on Monday that its 2021 roster was complete with the signings of Guillaume Boivin and Reto Hollenstein. Both riders will ride on with the team through 2022.

With some big names joining the squad next year – among them, Chris Froome and Mike Woods – Israel Start-Up Nation will hold a training camp in January in Israel. In a statement, team co-owner Sylvan Adams said that he expects the newly bolstered squad to be in the mix across the racing calendar moving forward.

“Our line-up for next year is significantly enhanced, yet it keeps the core group together,” he said. “We plan to be extremely competitive in the biggest races, including Grand Tours, Monuments, and Classics. Our pre-season training camp will provide an opportunity to bring everyone together and bond as a unit. Exciting times ahead.”

| Colombian U23 champ Arroyave to join EF

Daniel Arroyave has told El Espectador that he will join EF next season. The 20-year-old, who spent this season riding for UAE Team Colombia, rode to Colombia’s under-23 road title earlier this year.

“The opportunity arose and I am happy to arrive at a big team with the other Colombians,” he said, presumably in reference to Sergio Higuita and Rigoberto Urán. The former is signed through 2021 and Urán is also expected to return to the squad next year.

| Aru reportedly close to deal with Qhubeka-Assos

TuttoBici web reports that Fabio Aru is close to signing with Qhubeka-Assos for next season. The Italian climber, whose career palmares includes three Grand Tour podium finishes, including an overall win at the Vuelta a España in 2015, has spent the past three seasons with UAE-Team Emirates.

The team currently known as NTT has been busy signing riders lately after recently announcing that it would indeed continue next year as Qhubeka-Assos following months of uncertainty, and with Louis Meintjes headed to Circus-Wanty Gobert next year, the roster would appear to have an opening for a GC rider.

Meanwhile, in Colombia, Edison Muñoz wasn’t able to enjoy a stage win at the Clásico RCN on Monday quite as much as he would have hoped. As he posted up to celebrate winning the second stage of the race – currently led by Oscar Sevilla, by the way – Muñoz rolled over a bump in the road and went down hard.

He did, at least, still get the victory.
