As the week comes to a close, Tom Dumoulin has offered some insight into his 2020 campaign and what’s ahead for him next season, and Bianchi has unveiled the new-look bikes that the GreenEdge team will ride next year.
Away from the WorldTour, tragedy has befallen the Nevada cycling scene as five people were killed and others were hurt when a truck driver slammed into a large group of riders on Thursday morning. According to reports, the cyclists were taking part in an annual ride when the incident occurred.
Our condolences go out to the families and friends of those who lost their lives in the tragedy.

| Dumoulin talks 2020 season, looks ahead to 2021
Tom Dumoulin has offered insight into his 2020 season and what’s next for him in an interview with De Limburger, telling the Dutch newspaper that this season saw him go “from total nothing to total chaos.”
Dumoulin joined Jumbo-Visma at the start of the season following a season derailed by a knee injury. The gap between his last race of 2019 and his first race of 2020 spanned more than a full year. He went into both the Tour de France and the Vuelta a España as a co-leader, but he ultimately slotted into a support role for Primoz Roglic at the Tour (albeit en route to a seventh overall finish of his own) and abandoned the Vuelta after seven stages.
“It was physically more difficult than hoped for. In top sport it is all about the last percent,” Dumoulin said, going on to note that “that one percent is more difficult than the first 90.”
That said, Dumoulin expressed confidence that he can return to his best. He also talked about his goals for 2021, which include a focus on the time trial at the Tokyo Olympics.
| Bianchi unveils 2021 bikes for GreenEdge team
Bianchi has revealed the bikes that the GreenEdge team (currently racing as Mitchelton-Scott but set for a name change) will ride next year as the squad switches bike sponsors. After years on Scott bikes, the Australian outfit is switching to Bianchi, a move that will see the team’s riders aboard the Oltre XR4 Disc, Specialissima Disc, and Aquila in 2021.
The bikes unveiled by Bianchi on Friday feature updated aesthetics combining the brand’s iconic celeste with turquoise-celeste and carbon black.

| Jonathan Dibben retires
Jonathan Dibben announced his retirement on the PodCrash podcast. The 26-year-old Brit spent 2020 with Lotto-Soudal, but the Belgian WorldTour squad did not renew his contract, and he did not catch on with another team.
After a promising under-23 career, Dibben joined Sky on a two-year deal in 2017, and he nabbed a time trial stage victory at the 2017 Tour of California. He rode for Madison Genesis last season before moving to Lotto-Soudal for what would be his final year as a pro.
| Five cyclists killed as truck driver slams into group ride in Nevada
Five cyclists were killed and others were hurt when a truck driver drove into a large group of cyclists and support vehicle traveling with them in Nevada on Thursday morning.
According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the cyclists were riding on a stretch of U.S. 95 through an area of desert in southern Nevada when the crash occurred. Some of the cyclists were behind their support vehicle, a Subaru hatchback, and others were in front of it when a box truck slammed into the group from behind. Several cyclists were pinned against the Subaru, and the Subaru was driven into others further ahead.
The five cyclists who were killed were pronounced dead at the scene. The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports that the truck driver was cooperative with law enforcement, and was not suspected of having been impaired.
