Bontrager’s carbon wheels are now covered with a lifetime warranty

Good news for all you railroad track hoppers out there: Bontrager has upgraded its warranty program to now include a lifetime warranty on their carbon wheels.

What was offered before? At the end of 2018, Bontrager announced its Carbon Care Wheel Loyalty Program, a two-year, no-cost replacement program that offers free replacement or repair of any Bontrager carbon wheel that sustains damage from riding within the first two years of ownership.

The announcement is part of a welcome trend. A number of brands have introduced competitive lifetime warranties as they strive to bring a little comfort to the buying process, and confidence in the product.

Niner announced their new lifetime warranty earlier this month, while Enve, Roval, and Giant both announced updates to their policies in 2019. Santa Cruz, e*thirteen, We Are One Composites, and Reynolds are a few other brands that offer lifetime warranty programs.

Bontrager’s new lifetime warranty also includes their carbon mountain rims, as well.

The new Bontrager program keeps the Carbon Care Wheel Loyalty Program in place, while offering a lifetime warranty against defect. It will cover all Bontrager carbon wheels, which includes both road and mountain, with no additional cost to the purchaser. Wheels can be both stock purchase or aftermarket.

“Like everything we make, we build our carbon wheels to last a lifetime — and we have a carbon wheel lineup now that delivers incredible performance and durability,” said Graham Wilhelm, Bontrager’s Director of Product for Wheels. “A great wheelset is an investment, and we believe it’s one worth protecting for life.”
