For this year’s Dubai Tour Mark Cavendish (the 2015 winner) will be in an illustrious circle of champions that includes Sir Bradley Wiggins, Philippe Gilbert, Rui Costa, Fabian Cancellara, Tony Martin and a band of sprinters including Elia Viviani and Andrea Guardini and Marcel Kittel. DUBAI TOUR 2016 STAGES The Dubai Tour is made up from three stages suited to the sprinters and one – stage three, The Westin Stage – to the puncheurs. The only fact that might split the race during the opening two stages are crosswinds that could come into play on the more open roads across the desert. Stage three repeats the uphill finish to Hatta Dam that was won by John Degenkolb last year. The German will miss the race but the short and steep climb (200 m) is ideally suited for riders like Juan Jose Lobato (Movistar) or Philippe Gilbert (BMC). The final stage without any climbing will probably be decided in a bunch sprint and should fix – together with bonus points – the order of the final classification. Stage one, February 3, Dubai International Marine Club to Fujairah, 179km Stage two, February 4, Dubai International Marine Club to Palm Jumeirah, 188km Stage three, February 5, ...

2016, cannondale, Cannondale Pro Cycling Team, castelli, Linea Pelle, News, Race bags -

The team’s signature argyle pattern takes a more prominent position on the jersey, as does the name of the 2016 naming sponsor, Cannondale. This Castelli-designed jersey brings together the Argyle Armada motif of Slipstream Sports with the strong green corporate colors of Cannondale to provide greater visibility in the group or from the helicopter, but with black shorts to keep the look classic. AN ONGOING SEARCH FOR INNOVATION AND PERFORMANCE Castelli has spent the last year making numerous improvements to the pro team clothing, based both on rider feedback and on ideas from Castelli’s internal innovation team. There are a total of 24 improvements to the race clothing and nine all-new models, each designed to help the Cannondale riders go faster and stay more comfortable in all weather conditions. Rider feedback and wind tunnel testing have led to a notable update to the Aero Race jersey, which gains an additional 2 watts in aero savings while becoming more breathable and better fitting. Those changes are also carried over to the Sanremo Speedsuit, and the lightweight Climber’s jersey now provides the same aero savings as last year’s Aero Race jersey. Castelli will provide more details throughout the season regarding significant updates ...

With the Mondiale Bibshort we simply set out to design the most comfortable, luxurious bibshort we could make. Everything we do in some way goes back to speed, and in this case the Mondiale short is made for your longest training rides to make you faster for race day in your Free Aero Race Bibshorts, or those rides where you’re just out enjoying your race fitness. Either way, this short is obscenely comfortable with its new 220g Cinquanta fabric with a full 50% Lycra® content that coddles you unlike any short you’ve ever worn. The construction builds on the comfort we developed with our Body Paint shorts, but the new higher-rebound fabric provides greater support with improved freedom of movement. Laser-cut ventilation on the back and no-sew bonded seams complete the feeling that we held absolutely nothing back in making the most comfortable short you’ve ever used. SECRET TRAINING STEALTH LOOK We call this the Secret Training look. Black, understated, quietly confident. Every bike racer knows that feeling of when you go into Secret Training mode, when your focus turns inward, when you’re concentrated on getting everything just right. You don’t want to draw attention to yourself as your entire ...

To celebrate the 30th edition of the Maratona dles Dolomites next year, the 14th stage of the Giro will cross the iconic mountain roads of Europe’s premier Gran Fondo race. This is an exceptional acknowledgement by the Giro organizers to a sports event that in its thirty years of existence has succeeded in bringing to fruition the full potential of the Dolomite-biking experience, increasing the importance and awareness of the strategic benefits of two-wheeled tourism, not only in the Dolomites, but in all of Alto Adige. The stage will give participants of the Maratona the possibility, at a distance, to measure their steel up against professional cyclists along all the passes that characterize the Dolomitic event. Saturday, May 21st, the classic Dolomitic Queen Stage will leave Alpago and end in Alta Badia, in Corvara to be precise. When they reach the town of Arabba after 85 kilometers, riders will face the classic roads of the Maratona with its familiar pinwheel of breathtaking passes that overlook all the Ladin valleys: Pordoi, Sella, Gardena, Campolongo, Giau, Falzarego and Valparola.
