Trail & Enduro Bike Highlights from EUROBIKE 2017
It’s that time of the year again, the products for the new season are presented at the EUROBIKE 2017. Although many well-known manufacturers are no longer represented at the fair, the EUROBIKE remains one of the most important appointments in the bike sector, with 1.400 exhibitors flooding in from all around the world. We are obviously here to show you the most important highlights from the show.
Rocky Mountain Instinct aka. Pipeline 27.5+
at € 2,700.
You do not have to reinvent the wheel to design a good product, as Rocky Mountain proves with the brand new Instinct, aka Pipeline. The frames of the Rocky Mountain Instinct and Pipeline are identical. And yet they are aimed at very different riding styles. The Instinct is for those who want a 29er and like spending long days in the saddle, but if comfort and agility are what you’re after, the Pipeline is the bike you’ll want. Both bikes have a 140 mm of travel, the well-known Ride9 linkage system and neatly concealed bearings. Rocky Mountain adjusts for the difference in wheel size by placing a spacer beneath the steerer tube of the Pipeline, bringing the cockpit up to the same height as the 29er Instinct. The geometry is as you would expect from a modern trail bike and in no way extreme. Prices start at € 2,700 for the aluminium version.
Geometry not aggressive enough? Then have a look at the BC Edition. Here Rocky Mountain does away with the Ride9 system and increases the rear travel by 15 mm to 155 mm. To accompany the increased travel of the rear suspension, Rocky Mountain installed a 160 mm fork. Couple that with a flat 65,9° head angle and what used to be a trail bike becomes a proper shredding machine. No surprise then that Rocky Mountain supplies the BC Edition with SRAM Code brakes. The BC Edition is priced at 6,400 €.
