Adaptrac system: the future of traction control?
Imagine you are racing down the final stage and just around the last corner is that technical rock garden that has caused so many problems in practice. A quick glance at the dials on your bars show that your tyre pressures are running at 40psi front and back, too firm! Smashing into the corner you cut a sweet high line then hit the pressure adjustment lever dropping both tyres to 22psi, staying pinned through the rock garden tyre grip is tenacious! Firing out of the gnar you hit the final sprint, rapidly inflating the tyres to 50psi you mash the pedals to the finish. This may all sound far-fetched but the technology is already here; it works, and if you have a sufficient bank balance it can be fitted to your bike right now! This sort of control could be very advantageous to the Enduro racer, allowing optimised tyre pressures for any terrain.

Reflections on the Megavalanche Île de La Réunion 2012
In the middle of the Indian Ocean just 200km south west of Mauritius, lies the tropical Réunion Island. With a warm climate, extensive trails and stunning volcanoes towering to 3070m it is a true mountain bikers paradise. The Megavalanche Réunion, like its namesake in Alpe D’Huez, is a mass start long distance downhill, starting at the top of the Maido Volcano (2200m) and dropping over a total distance of 20.8km to the coastal city of St Paul. This year 311 riders battled the heat and dust, trying to take top spot on the podium, held previously by true legends of the sport such as Steve Peat, Cedric Gracia and Nico Vouilloz.

Three times World Champion, five times on the World Champs podium, two World Cup overall titles, three European gold medals and ten World Cup wins do not seem to be enough for Czech pro racer Michal Prokop: From BMX to Fourcross and now enduro? If the rumours turn out to be correct, the first season of the Enduro World Series will be very exciting! We have already viewed the first spyshots of Michal riding and training for enduro, but we are still waiting for official info on whether Michal will join Curtis Keene in Specialized’s global enduro racing team.
