Sea Otter 2015| 30 years of Marin Bikes
Marin is celebrating their 30 year milestone with the release of the Marin Pine Mountain 1. A plussize tubeless ready hardtail, the Pine Mountain features 27.5+ x 2.9” tires, and a 4130 butted chromoly steel frame and suspension fork. Featuring fender and rack eyelets as well as three bottle mounts, the frame is adventure ready: just strap on some bags and head out to the backcountry.
The 30 year release is a special one for Marin, as it ties into the grand opening of the Marin Museum of Bicycling this June. Based in Fairfax, California, the museum will be the new home of the Mountain Bike Hall of Fame, which was formerly located in Crested Butte, Colorado.
As part of the release, Marin brought a collection of heritage bikes to the Sea Otter Classic. Though there were quite a few vintage bikes present, we took a closer look at a few hardtail and dual suspension models that stood out where the evolution of the line was clearly apparent.
