New 2018 Mountain Bikes from the EUROBIKE Media Days

The world’s cycling press descended on the Kronplatz for EUROBIKE Media Days to better acquaint themselves with the new launches for the 2018 season – us too. Apart from many new E-MTBs, there were also some sweet trail and enduro bikes to admire and we show you the most exciting ones.

The weather was the most tempestuous part of this year’s Media Days; the amount of eye-catching new products on display was a little thin on the ground.

BIONICON rEVO – the revised Edison EVO

Revised to feature a longer reach, shorter seat tube and better sensitivity at the rear, the rEVO is the next generation of the well-known Edison EVO. It comes in three build specs, 4 colours, either 160 or 180 mm travel and Bionicon’s adjustment system.

Bionicon have revised and renamed their well-known Edison EVO model, lending the new bike a longer reach and rehashed rear end design. Now going by the name Bionicon rEVO, this bike has retained the familiar adjustment system that lowers the fork, lengthens the rear and raises the bottom bracket height all with the push of one button. This means up to 5° of infinite adjustment for the head angle and seat angle. Bionicon also revealed plans to re-enter the retail scene, with MSA taking over distribution. The Bavarian company based at Tegernsee will still custom-build bikes for interested parties. Launched in three build specs and four colors, the rEVO is available as of now from Bionicon directly. There’s choice between a model with 160 mm or 180 mm of travel. Altering the suspension just needs a second air cartridge (€ 200) and another rocker arm (€ 140).

Fully lengthened fork in the downhill mode with either 160 or 180 mm of travel.
The fork can be dropped by up to 8 cm when the gradient ramps up.
After pressing the button to compress the fork, air is sent rearwards to the rear shock’s cylinder. Body weight activated and with infinite tuning, the pneumatic release valve works the opposite way to lengthen the fork once more.
Bionicon have adopted 148 mm rear hub axle spacing and there’s compatibility with up to 2.6″ wide tires.
Depending on the rocker arm, ride with either 160 or 180 mm rear travel. You can retro-fit a different sized rocker whenever you like for the price of € 140.
