Mondraker and Fabien Barel Divide for New Adventures!

Its now official: After five years of productive collaboration, three-time World Champ Fabien Barel and the Spanish brand Mondraker will go their separate ways! Fabien Barel has enjoyed a distinguished history with Mondraker, able to celebrate his come back in the world cup circuit, after some severe injuries. Fabien was also deeply involved in some great innovations like the slack and extreme Mondraker Summum DH bike as well as the unique Forward Geometry, demonstrating both Mondraker’s and Fabien’s progressive thinking and desire to push the limits of bike design.

Mondraker and Fabien Barel have set different priorities for 2013 and have decided to go their separate ways,  allowing both parties to focus 100% on their goals.  Reflecting a month of surprising team moves and exciting new collaborations within the MTB racing world, we look forward to bringing you news of Fabien’s 2013 plans!

2008: Fabien Barel on the new Subaru MTB Pro Team Powered by MONDRAKER with Florent Payet and Damien Spagnolo

2009: First prototype of the Summum revealed, designed by Cesar Rojo (Cero Design). And amazing comeback from Fab at the UCI World Cup in Maribor (Slovenia) with a win after having raced the Summum for the first time in a World Cup.

Constant podium contender in 2010…

… and in 2011. At the UCI Downhill World Cup in La Bresse (France) Fabien announces his retirement from racing the Downhill World Cup

In 2012 Fabien was looking for new adventures, making his own webisodes and travelling round the globe to work with many pro riders from all disciplines.
