First Look: Rocky Mountain Altitude Rally Edition
Rocky Mountain just released a race-ready version of their Rocky Mountain Altitude for 2014. While the frame remains unchanged the Rally Edition will come with race-specific components to give the Altitude a more aggressive character. Check out our review of the 2013 model here. This is what they say about their new bike kit:
“Straight out of the box, Altitude Rally Edition bikes are ready for any Enduro start-gate.
Featuring premium race-tuned suspension, DH width bars, 1×10 drivetrain, and burlier wheels,
Rally Edition bikes are ready to put power down between the tape and smash berm
after berm.”
Without any doubt the components are a key to great performance in racing. But how much will that version change the rather tame trail bike? We’ll tell you as soon as we got one for testing!
1×10 drivetrain in combination with a e.13 chain guide should perform a lot better in rough terrain than the standard 2×10 setup of the Altitude we tested in 2013.
The new Fox Float X Remote rear shock features fast on-the-fly adjustment of the CTD-system and has a better heat management than previous models.
