FIRST DETAILS: TransEnduro Grenoble-Torino 2013

To be honest, when we first heard about the TransEnduro GT, we were pretty excited about getting some details about this event. Finally, last night we received an email from Charlie, the organizer. We were blown away by every single word we read:

5 days of racing, 20 timed stages, 15,000 meters of descending. Wow!

  • 16-20 July 2013 (Starts in Grenoble on the Tuesday morning following Megavalanche)
  • A journey west to east (from France into Italy) across the main alpine range
  • A race on large quantities of singletrack, mainly descending (if you hadn’t guessed this from the 15,000 meter statistic)
  • Timed sections are mainly natural singletrack, but with some bikepark tracks thrown in too
  • Climbing occurs through a combination of bikepark lifts / buses / your own pedal-power
  • 5 days of racing (includes 5 nights’ hotel accommodation, fully catered)
  • Approx 5000m ascent (pedalled) / approx 15,000m descent!
  • 20 timed stages / average of 4 stages per day
  • Revolutionary timing system, adding to the excitement for those either participating in, or following the race
  • Brought to you by an international group of passionate and experienced MTB event organizers, committed to bringing you the best-thing-yet in MTB Enduro Racing!

Price (indicative. TBC) €895

If you take a look at the map and the possible connections from Grenoble to Torino, it’s fairly obvious that the race will pass by the Alpi Bike Resort, which offers incredible trails:

Mindblowing trails in Sauze d’Oulx.

Especially in Sauze d’Oulx (you might know it from SuperEnduro / Enduro of Nations; read an article about this region in issue #001, page 26), there are amazing trails for enduro racing. But who knows? Bardonecchia, Cesana-Sansicario, Chiomonte, Claviere, Pragelato, Prali and Sestriere could also host some stages of the TransEnduroGT.

MARK YOUR CALENDAR AND SAVE THE DATE! We already did it.
