EUROBIKE 2016 Show Snaps Day 1
Something strange is going on! The entire bike industry has descended on the small industrial town of Friedrichshafen, on the shore of Lake Constance. With 14 huge halls filled with every conceivable bike product, EUROBIKE 2016 is the place to be if you love bikes.
Our team has been scouring the halls, sniffing out the best new bikes and technology. Some of the products on display got us super excited while others just made us laugh. We will be bringing you all the information on the biggest product releases but in the meantime here are the highlights from the first day.
DMR V-Twin Clipless Pedal
The new DMR V-Twin pedal fuses a Shimano style (compatible with Shimano cleats) sprung body with a large aluminium cage for maximum security and feel. If you want more grip you can add up to 8 of DMR’s Terror pins to the cage, and also increase the height of the leading and trail edges with spacers for maximum shoe compatibility. Target weight is 480 g (reduced to only 300 g for the magnesium/titanium version). Five colours are available and price is still TBA, but we can see these being popular for aggressive trail and enduro riding. | dmrbikes.com

ONZA Aquila
Together with downhill superstar Aaron Gwin, ONZA developed this new tire called Aquilla. It features the same carcass as the well-known IBEX DH and will be available both in a 45a- and a super-grippy GRP40 compound. The weight of the final tires will be around 1,250 g each. It kind of looks similiar to the MAXXIS Minion or the Specialized Butcher – no coincidence, as Gwin was involved in the development of both of them too. No wonder some fondly called it “Gwinion”… | onza-tires.com

The rims will be available separately (99,90 € each) or as wheelset with Stan’s NEO-hubs and 32 Sapim Force spokes for 599 €.
