A new name, new look and new bikes, Cannondale-Garmin

Cannondale-Garmin Pro Cycling team today unveiled its much-anticipated 2015 team kit. The kit was introduced to dealers, fans, celebrities and media at the team launch event in New York City. Featuring a new color scheme of green and black to reflect new partner, Cannondale, the kit retains its signature argyle – a staple of owner, Slipstream Sports. 2015 represents the biggest step forward in Castelli’s pro equipment since we started with Slipstream in 2011,” said Andrea Peron, Castelli’s race performance director. “We’ve concentrated our efforts on improving comfort and aerodynamics with a new short, and making sure the team has a competitive advantage in any adverse weather conditions. There are 11 new garments in the team’s equipment line-up, each one the result of development with the riders and staff as well as Castelli’s internal research. For 2015 Castelli has made some significant new improvements in crucial race equipment. First, Cannondale-Garmin riders will shift into a new short, the Free Aero Race Bib Short. After 3 years in development, Castelli’s new top-of-the-line race short represents a significant increase in muscle support and comfort to go along with the wind tunnel tests that show a 10 watt savings at 50 km/h. Free Jacket, excellent for keeping you warm in cold weather

The Gabba might have grabbed the headlines over the past few years, but Castelli have an impressive range of other jackets to cater for every meteorological scenario. Summer cycling in the US

It’s been a spectacular summer (at least where I’ve been), but now the kit that has seen me through the past few months is slowly being replaced by leg warmers, long-sleeved jerseys and warmers gilets. The European weather is heading into the autumnal spectrum of the season so any chance to keep hold of that sun is always welcome. Even if it involves many hours on cramped confined planes. A lucky chance with work cropped up that saw me heading State side, and as always the bike wasn’t left behind. California along with a several other areas in the US has a great reputation for cycling. Colorado, Portland and Seattle are a few of the other prime destination. Unfortunately due to time constraints I had to lump for only the areas around San Francisco and the Napa Valley, I know I know, its a damn shame but even through this hardship I managed to have a great time. For starters I’ll cover what was definitely one of the harder rides that I’ve been foolish enough to undertake in the past few years.
