CANNONDALE Jekyll Carbon Team
Jury Verdict
From the very first look at the distinctive Jekyll Carbon Team, it is clear that Cannondale doesn’t
stick to conventions. Using their unique, one-legged Lefty suspension fork and the exclusive
FOX DYAD rear shock they aim to increase both performance and versatility whilst reducing
weight. In practice, this results in an extremely agile and precise handling bike that won the
Enduro World Series in 2013. The high torsional rigidity of the fork and the shock’s low centre of
gravity are immediately apparent. Together with the lightweight build and the remotely activated
ride modes, the bike has exceptionally efficient and powerful handling. Whether you are hunting
for seconds on a race stage, or just on an epic weekend adventure, the versatile Jekyll scores
points in any terrain.
BIONICON Edison EVO 160 27.5
Jury Verdict
BIONICON is back! Not just visually refreshed, the Bavarians have presented their newest
creation – the Edison EVO, which is also functionally better than ever before. The Bavarian
innovators are still sticking with their well-known Bionicon system for on-the-fly geometry and
suspension adjustment. For the first time, however, this is also available with a single crown
fork. At the press of a button the fork travel is infinitely adjusted whilst simultaneously a small
cylinder extends the rear shock. Even the steepest climbs become a breeze. Downhill, the
modern, slack geometry and the plush suspension allow full control and masses of fun!
With or without the Bionicon system, 26” or 27.5” wheels, single or dual crown forks and 160mm or 180mm travel you can
choose between numerous options and specs in their online shop.
YETI SB5 Carbon
Jury Verdict
A trail bike that sets the standard! The new Yeti SB5C isn’t just super agile and efficient, it also bristles with authority and flattens even the smallest bumps with exceptional suspension performance. This balance of power and trail performance is outstanding, made possible by the new Switch Infinity Technology. This system allows for an optimised suspension spring rate and wheel travel path. The result: no other bike with 127 mm of suspension feels like it has this much travel. The geometry is spot on, the components are chosen with great care, and additional platform damping is unnecessary. The intelligent design guarantees maximum fun, and Yeti shows convincingly that sometimes less is more!
ROCKY MOUNTAIN Thunderbolt 790 MSL BC Edition
Jury Verdict
The Rocky Mountain Thunderbolt BC Edition signals the beginning of a new era in XC bikes.
The Canadians know what bikers need and have designed a trail missile to meet the changing
requirements of the market. Technical details such as the maintenance-friendly and stiff
Pipelock bearing system, the adaptive Ride9 rear suspension technology, and the aggressive
performance really won us over. The resulting ride characteristics are on a new level in the XC
sector: no other bike achieves a better symbiosis of maximum efficiency and aggressive trail
performance for all-round race course fun or just riding on your home trails. The timeless design
and beautiful carbon-fibre frame make the bike a true classic. We are absolutely enthralled!
Behind the Scenes | Inside the Design & Innovation Award 2015
Last year in early November, the editorial team of ENDURO met with a selected jury of industry experts in South Tyrol, to test and award the best products on the market. The winners will be announced in the next issue of ENDURO (coming in a few days!), but as a small teaser we’d like to give you a behind the scenes look in this extensive production.
