Review: Specialized Command Post – Dropper Seatpost
For 2014 Specialized has revised its Command Post. With a redesigned saddle clamp, and trimmed down weight, the post now weighs in at a competitive 583 grams (including lever and cable). The purchase price of this brand new seatpost has not been confirmed at the time of our editorial deadline.
Long-term Review: Alutech Fanes Enduro 3.0 Pinion
With 170mm of rear travel and 180mm at the front, the Alutech Fanes Enduro 3.0 Pinion was the most “loaded” bike within our long-term test – on top of that, the built-in gearbox with 18 gears made it an extraordinarily unique candidate.
Therefore, we did not go easy on it: dozens of visits to the bike park, eight races altogether, hundreds of kilometers on local trails as well as tours through the Alps, all filling the Fanes’ logbook. Throughout the season, the nice and sporty geometry as well as the potent chassis provided loads of riding fun. The majority of the high-quality equipment proved to be robust and up to the job. Only the Sun Ringle Charger Pro wheels revealed a few weaknesses and were quite annoying due to the regular rupture of the nipples – we bid adieu to fifteen of them in total.
Review: KindShock LEV – Dropper Seatpost
The Taiwanese component manufacturer KindShock won the Design & Innovation Award by Enduro Mountainbike Magazine last year with its LEV Seatpost!
Long-term Review: Merida One-Sixty 1800
Joy and sorrow are often interrelated. During the final test ride with our long-term test bike, the Merida One-Sixty 1800, bad luck came along. After a severe tree-contact, we were left with a wrecked frame, and the Merida was disqualified from the race.
Review: RockShox Reverb Stealth – Dropper Seatpost
The first RockShox Reverb was a game changer, taking the comfort, control, and action of dropper seatposts to a whole new level, influencing the development of the other seatposts in this test.
