Andalucia Bike Race Day One

Day one of the Andalucia Bike Race kicked off in hazy conditions with a 50km time-trial around the town of Martos. The stage consisted largely of roads and gravel tracks with fast top speeds but there was also several km of technical descents for participants to navigate. The Topeak-Ergon team dominated the opening day with Kristian Hynek and Alban Lakata (1:51:33) taking the win in elite men, and the pairing of Sally Bigham and Katrin Leumann (2:17:55) in the women’s field.

Filip Polc wins sixth title in the “Descida das Escadas de Santos”

The circuit has been changed, the difficulty was considerably increased, but the champion remains the same. For the sixth consecutive year, the Slovak Filip Polc secured the title and was again crowned in the “Descida das Escadas de Santos”, the main urban downhill competition in Latin America, which had its final on Sunday (14) in the Morro do Pacheco, downtown Santos. The sixth title was won in a thrilling fashion way, by a difference of incredible nine hundredths of a second over Lucas Borba, from Santa Catarina, Brazil.

The Final Giant 2W Gravity Enduro in Rotorua

The final round of this summer’s Giant 2W Gravity Enduro in Rotorua started from a race HQ that could have been designed for it: Lake Tikitapu, or the Blue Lake. The sold-out field pedalled out in to the forest to race six stages on gruelling downhill trails, and while conditions on the day were hot and dry, there were plenty of challenges on the steep and root-infested courses, still slick from recent rain.
